if devon could recall one emotion he was feeling as he awoke that morning, dread would fit it perfectly. the day of the party. devon knew he had to go, everyone was going. and he was sure fletcher was going so he would have someone to go with. he hoped. that wasn't what devon was dreading so much though. what devon was dreading was seeing a certain someone from winterthorne that would most likely be there, who he really didn't want to see. he had done so well so far of avoiding him, and now he risked walking straight into one of the reasons he had left winterthorne. and that was the reason for his dread... ezra fucking hart.
devon of course knew he would have to face the demon at some point, and in devons mind it wouldn't be that hard to avoid him, right? there would be loads of people at the party... what were the chances? knowing devon's luck, very high, but he had to stay optimistic. he knew he'd chicken out of going if he didn't. and all in all, other than that small humangus reason not to go, devon kind of did want to venture down. he wanted to see everyone again, and have a good time. and try and help fletcher forget everything.
so, that was that. he would go and he would bloody well enjoy it. now was the question of what to wear. his pale skin was beautiful, but he knew that he had a problem going topless. maybe some swimming shorts and a t-shirt would do? flip flops maybe? devon owned both, so he found out his very haiwian style shorts, a white baggy tee and sandles, putting them on and then doing his hair somewhat. it didn't need much, and he put that down to being a vampire, that without much effort his hair seemed to slide into place perfectly.
once he was dressed in the appropriate attire, looked presentable, and had grabbed a towel and some other essentials, devon began to walk down towards where the beach party was going to be. he saw a number of people around that seemed to be going in the same direction, but none of them he knew well. as he reached the party, he looked around for someone he knew, bringing a drink to him via his power. that was something that had changed while he'd been gone. he had more control over his telekinesis now, which was a relief.
seeing no one he knew, devon sighed. going over away from the vast crowd onto a small verge that was practically deserted. sitting down he looked out before his eyes, resting his head on his lap. why had he come again?

"When I first saw you, I already knew. There was something inside of you. Something I thought that I would never find. Angel of Mine."
Who turned on the sun? Parker opened one groggy eye to the unusually bright object poking through his window. Germany had to be the most unusual place he had ever been. This place constantly made him miss Italy. Only in Germany would it be freezing cold nearly all year except for one random day. This meant that everybody was going to be out partying. He didn't have any question about that.
Parker rolled out of body and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. There was no way he could go back to bed now. He noticed some type of flier or something on the floor inside his room. Someone must have slipped it under the crack in the door this morning. Shuffling to the door, he bent over and snatched up the piece of paper to take a closer look. Parker grumbled and tried to make his brown eyes focus on the letters across the page. All he could see right now was a bright flier that looked like it was advertising a party. He called that one.
Yawning, he checked the address and debated whether or not he was going to go. Everyone was going to be there. No doubt he would miss some pretty interesting events and gossip if he didn't go. On the other hand, it would be impossible to not run into Fletcher or anything else he would rather not bump into. Something inside of him was itching to go. Maybe it was the fact that there was actually SUN, or just the chance to ignore his problems for a day. Parker smiled and rushed over to his closet to pull out some swimming trunks. He slipped off his boxers and changed into some hunter green swimming trunks. This was going to be a good day.
He decided that he wasn't going to wear a shirt. This would give him the perfect opportunity to get a decent tan. Since coming to Winterthorne, he had become unbelievably pale. Parker also liked the idea that he could show off his slender, toned body for the first time in a while. He reached onto his dresser and grabbed some big black sunglasses and slipped on a pair of flip-flops. It was time for the mirror check before he walked out of his dorm. There was no way he would be caught dead looking terrible on a perfect day like this. Parker frowned slightly at his reflection. His hair would need a little bit of work.
After several minutes of fussing over his hair, he was finally ready to go step outside. Parker checked the location on the flier before heading out the door. The party was taking place at Lake Adva. He couldn't recall ever hearing of this place before. No matter. He would figure it out where it was and show up cool and collected. Today was the perfect day to start things over. Maybe he would bump into someone that would make him forget about Fletcher. It would be nice if he could just move on with his life. Parker had wasted too many months and shed too many tears over the other boy. With the sun came a new ray of hope for him.
He arrived at the lake to notice there was the area that was crammed full of students and another area that was practically deserted. Parker shrugged and walked closer toward the lake's water. All his life he could remember having a love for water even though he wasn't the best swimmer. Sighing, he ventured slowly away from the large crowd and let his thoughts linger. He was questioning himself about why he decided to come. There was nobody here that he really cared to talk to. Maybe it was too early for everyone? That was probably what it - Holy shit! Parker looked down just in time to avoid tripping over someone. His cheeks turned pink and he bit his lip slightly. "I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention." Well, this was surely embarrassing. Lifting his sunglasses to rest on top of his head, he noticed the other boy was cute, too. Greeeatt, he thought to himself. This was all he needed to do. What a great first impression for him to make. Something about this guy looked familiar, but he couldn't put a finger on it. Shaking the thought from his head, he noticed the other boy looking slightly down. "Trying to avoid the crowd, too? Are you okay? You look kind of ...." Parker forgot to finish what the other boy looked like. He kneeled down beside the other boy without even thinking. No invitation, acknowledgment, or any reason to think he was welcome. Something just drew him into being next to him. Parker wanted to talk to the other boy. He wanted to know what was wrong, or why he was all by himself. This boy was giving off all kinds of mixed signals to Parker, but it was too late. he was already focused in on those piercing blue eyes. His heart skipped a beat and for a moment all the world had stopped.
((ooc- I kind of took it upon myself to post to you. If this is a problem, let me know and I will delete it. I just thought devon sounded too cute to pass up. ))

AND I CAME HERE TO MAKE YOU DANCE TONIGHT!i don't care if i'm a guilty pleasure for you (shut up cause we won't stop) There were pros and cons to going to the beach party, Kaden mused as he looked through his collection of clothes, trying to decide what to wear. Obviously something bright. It was a beach party, which meant hawaiian shirts. Well, at least usually bright colors, of which he had plenty. Back to the pros and cons. Pros. The good things. He'd be at the beach, it was warm, he could hang with his friends, he'd get to swim, he'd get to walk around half naked without people thinking him too totally odd. He'd get to check out some of the newer people. And then there were cons. Evan would probably be there. And. Well, that was basically the only good con he had come up with (which is why he was going to the event.). It wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It was just the whole everything-is-awkward deal between them. Especially since the last thing that he had told the other teen when they were friends was that he, Kaden, loved Evan, his best friend. Okay, it might not have been the exact last thing, but it was close enough, right? And that was what had changed everything between the two, because Evan, who had Xio, obviously didn't love him back. Kaden had known that, but he had still blurted it out. And he knew that the friendship between the two couldn't be repaired until the werewolf got over his affection for the teen.
Which would basically mean that he had to find someone else to love lust over. And only hope to someone that he wouldn't get heartbroken. Not again. Shaking his head, tan fingers reached back to grab at another shirt hiding in the back of the closet. Pulling it out, he found in his hand a green tee marked by white stripes. Shrugging, he pulled it on over his bare chest. He'd take it off later, at the beach. Right now, with the cooler rooms, he would prefer to have it on. With a shirt, he starting digging around for his swim shorts. The blue ones which would look fine with the green tank. Dark eyes looked about the room, strewn with various odds and ends of clothes. He always had a variety. Hopefully Asher wouldn't mind too much. Trent, he knew, probably wouldn't mind as much, but the spiteful, drama queen Asher...you never knew with him. Finally he located the blue shorts poking out from under his bed, where he had probably thrown them earlier. Picking them up, he sniffed. Yup. They were definitely clean. Shedding his shorts and underwear (making sure the blinds and door were shut before doing so) he pulled the blue article of clothing on.
Kaden ran a hand through his hair as he glanced around, making sure there was nothing else he really needed. He'd be fine without his cell phone for a day, really, and he, along with his roommates, didn't lock the door. Not unless whatever was going on in the dorm was something private. How else would they know not to come in? Well, besides a sign that said as such. But that was juvenile. Besides, with what could go on, there could be times were one forgot to put such a sign up. But that was how it was, so Kaden didn't feel the need to bring his keys with him. Spotting his lime green beach towel, he slung it over his shoulders, slipping on his bright yellow flip flops and heading out the door.
The hallways were relatively empty, compared to normal days. Usually, there were quite a few more students wandering the halls, and most of them normally dressed and not heading in generally the same direction (though there were a few dashing back to their dorms, having forgotten something.) Of course, of the people still in the halls, he was one of the most brightly dressed. (Though there was a small, black haired girl that had a lot of bright colors as well. Not to mention a lot of her stuff had matching patterns. Weird.) Although it wasn't a surprise, really. He did seem to dress in obnoxiously bright clothing. (And that girl seemed to be the only one who could ever compete with him there.)
Finally, he made it outside in the glaring sun, heat beating down on him, though he didn't pay too much attention to the heat. He was born and raised Italian; he could deal with sun and the heat. How do you think he got to be so tan? Whistling softly, he made his way down to Adva lake, where the party was to be held. He looked around for faces he knew. Some of them were familiar, definitely, but what attracted his attention was quite a familiar face, and one he definitely liked, set away from the larger groups. Creeping backwards and around so that he was behind Devon, he grinned as crept up behind the boy. It was extremely likely that the boy had heard him already (the vampire having superhuman senses as he did) or even smelled him. To him, vampires had a stench...one that was similar (though how he knew this, he didn't know) to death. The werewolf knew, too, that they smelled to vampires. It was just something between the two races, and nothing could really change that. But it didn't matter, he still would creep up on the boy.
But before he was able to get too close, another person approached Devon. Blinking, a grin covered his lips. It was Parker, a long time friend more than friend? of his. Of course, here, there were a bit weird feelings. He liked both Parker and Devon, and in similar ways. Oh well. He could handle himself, he was sure. Besides, he hadn't talked to either of the two in a while. Kaden wrapped his arms around Devon in a hug, a grin covering his lips. That done, he jumped up to give Parker a hug. There. Sitting back down between the two, fingers tapped impatiently against his leg. Such was the hyper boy. "Hi Dev, Hi Parker!" he exclaimed happily, smiling at his two fuck buddies friends. "I haven't seen either of you in a while," he pouted sadly before brightening up again. "How have y'all been?"

the drink within devon's hand was actually making him feel rather sick, as he sat staring out into nothingness. it seemed to devon some sort of disgusting cocktail... whoever made it either had no tastebuds or was trying to kill everyone. or maybe it was the fact he was hungry for something other than alcohol and human food. he was a vampire after all, and he hadn't been drinking blood over the past couple of days very much. he'd managed to get hold of a freshman that was open to the idea yesterday, but devon hadn't drunk much since the fresher was so weak after a couple of mouthfuls. devon was ignoring it. he still despised being a vampire. why couldn't he be human, or even any other being, apart from a vampire... though he didn't fancy being a demon.
demon... ezra. that damn stupid idiot demon. and he was all devon could think about. devon knew he was being stupid, but it wasn't like he could just switch his thoughts off no matter how much he wished he could. what he needed was someone else to think about! but where he was going to find that here devon had no clue. anyway, right now he needed to focus on helping fletcher. it was the least he could do after leaving his best friend to deal with everything on his own. sometimes he wondered what would happen if he and fletcher got together. but devon would never even think of going through with it, he wouldn't risk his and fletchers friendship. devon couldn't survive without fletcher.
in the midst of devon's deep thoughts, a shadow came over devon and he looked up in shock as a guy near enough tried to trample him... well maybe not maliciously, the guy probably just wasn't watching where he was going. devon smiled and shook his head at the guy. "i-it's f-f-fine." devon stuttered, smiling, before looking back in front of him, making sure to chuck the drink down in front because he couldn't drink anymore of that crap. devon shrugged at the boys questions, saying nothing more on the subject as he sat beside him with no invitation. not that devon was all that bothered, he needed company to take his mind off of... him.
had devon been concentrating, and not letting his mind wander, he probably would have heard kaden. it was kind of hard to smell with so many people around, so many smells around. he practically jumped out of his skin as arms wrapped around him. looking around to see kaden. a smile lit up his face at the sight of his friend, dressed in so much color as usual. the smile soon fell from his lips when he realized who the other person was. parker. fucking parker. anger surged within devon, his eyes narrowing at the other. devon didn't get angry often, but when he did. he was a force to be reckoned with. devon didn't hear what kaden said, the blood boiling blocking most sound out.
devon couldn't help but stand up, growling at parker. "you! was all devon said before pouncing, laying into the other with his fists, beating him into the floor, not aware of how much strength he was or wasn't using. he wasn't thinking. all he could think of was how fletcher was hurting, and about fucking ezra hart and how much he hated that fucking demon.

There was a slight breeze coming from the water. He was kind of enjoying it though. Parker smiled as the other boy seemed to welcome his presence. That made him feel like at least there were some people around here who weren't half bad. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of a familiar face. Uh-oh! This was about to get very uncomfortable. Somehow, he didn't need his empathy to pick up what emotions were about to be stirring.
Sighing, he awaited what was most definitely unavoidable. Kaden bounced around and hugged both of them before sitting down. They were friends that had not talked in months. Well, they were kind of more than friends for a bit there. Neither one of them knew where things were going. Parker kind of panicked and distanced himself from the situation completely. He definitely was not over Fletcher and was not ready to jump into anything else. Kaden seemed to have a lot on his plate at the time as well. So, they remained friends with the idea that time would tell what was meant to be.
He paused and his breath caught in his chest when Kaden said his name. Suddenly, the connect to the mysterious boy made sense. Horror struck him as he realized that he was sitting across from none other then Fletcher's best friend. This was definitely about to be a bad situation. Parker took a deep breath and tried to brace himself for what was about to happen. It took mere seconds for Devon's face to shift into an enraged expression. He looked like he was about ready to tear into the nearest person. Unfortunately for Parker, he was the nearest person to Devon. He didn't even have time to think. All he did was blink and the other boy was on top of him. Not in a good way either. Parker tossed around the endless possible reactions that he could have in this situation, but decided to just take the beating. It may have went against his better judgment (aka- his crazy side) but something made him unable to fight back. Maybe he felt like he deserved the punches that Devon was dealing him. Parker had dealt a little unjustly with Fletcher recently. He was sure the other boy didn't know the whole story and he probably didn't care to hear what Parker had to say. Closing his eyes, he lay still and let the other boy deal out the damage he was determined to cause. Everything started to ache as he felt his body hit the sand. Oddly, it felt cool on his bare skin and he was aware of the blood trickling down his face. Devon couldn't make him feel physical pain that came anywhere near the level of emotional pain he went through daily. Nobody would understand his situation because it was so unique. Parker had a million images flash through his mind. All the commotion around him became fuzzy and words sounded muffled. He nearly passed out before remembering that he had the ability to heal himself. Focusing, he felt the warmth of his powers fill his body and his wounds healed. Devon was just as quick as he was and for every wound healed another emerged to replace it. At least this way he was able to maintain consciousness.
"Th-thank y-you." The words quietly spilled from his bloody lips as the other boy continued to throw punches. He wasn't sure why he was apologizing but he was sure this was a life changing moment. Parker felt suddenly different about a lot of things, but he knew there was still a war raging inside of him. Still, he was going to focus on staying healed and alive right now because obviously Devon had super human strength. It was just his luck to get tangled up with a vampire the one time he felt like being a pacifist. Parker had an extremely flawed mindset. What a time to realize half of your life had been lived in error. He swallowed his pride and allowed fate to take control.

AND I CAME HERE TO MAKE YOU DANCE TONIGHT!i don't care if i'm a guilty pleasure for you (shut up cause we won't stop) Kaden didn't really see what the big hype about the beach party was. Okay, sure, they were up in Germany, on a mountain. Beach parties weren't really existant in such places. But he was raised up in Italy, where it was sunsunsun all the time, not to mention the water, so it wasn't like this was anything too special, but there were those that grew up in places that didn't have such parties, so it made sense that some might be excited about it. He just wasn't one of those people, so of course he wasn't the first one there (though he also wasn't the last one) and he was calmer about it than some others. He didn't dash to get to the lake, and he didn't scream like some little girl (though that would be a scary thing...). He was just himself, approaching lake adva with plain strides, not antsy to get there, nor too particularly excited, though he would have a chance to hang out and talk with friends.
The werewolf was rather surprised that Devon jumped in surprise under him. He would've thought that, with both his werewolf-y smell and the vampire's super senses that he would've noticed him approaching. But apparently he was distracted by some thought, and hadn't been paying attention. Then again, the smell might have been hard to distinguish, now that he paid attention to the scents around him. If it weren't for the fact that the vampire was right next to him, he probably wouldn't have been able to tell that the boy was a vampire.
Sophomore sat in serene silence, oblivious to the thoughts of the other two, simply waiting for a reply. He hadn't really been looking at either of the two, and didn't notice the growing rage on Devon's face. Dark brown eyes widened in surprise as the boy jumped up and punched Parker, the latter letting it hit him, the angel falling in the sand...and then..nothing. The senior made no attempt to block any of Devon's punches, surprising Kaden. He knew that, when he wanted to, Parker could cause some damage.
What was more surprising was the thanks that spilled from Parker's lips. Kaden didn't know why the angel was saying that, just that he was. Shaking his head to remove himself from his stunned reverie, he jumped up, grabbing Devon's arm as it was pulled back and attempted to subdue the boy. They may be good friends, but he was also friends with Parker. Besides, with both him and Devon having super strength, he'd have an easier time of stopping the vampire than others. Like hell he was going to let Parker get beat to a pulp, even if he hadn't seen the other boy in forever.
"Dev, Devbear, shh, stop it. Calm down. It's alright," Kaden murmured soothing words to the boy, attempting to calm him down. He really didn't want there to have to be any people going to the nurse's office. Not now. It was the fucking beach party. Things bleeding and people passing out was a no-no. And it looked like Parker was on the verge of passing out, despite the fact that he was continually healing his injuries. The vampire had probably been using a lot of his super strength on the angel, and damn, that would hurt.

devon was scared, scared of himself. every punch that was thrown towards parker was like a stab within his gut. he knew he shouldn't be hurting parker like this, though he deserved it for everything he had put, and was still putting, fletcher through. but devon knew, even though he was fletcher's best friend, he had no right. he didn't even want to hurt parker like this. rough him up a little maybe, but not punch him enough to kill him. he knew he had super strength, a perk and vice of being a vampire, and he also knew that he could easily kill parker. which was what scared him the most. devon knew he could kill parker. but he couldn't stop. though devon's mind screamed at him to stop, the punches kept being thrown. the vampire was oblivious to what was around him, oblivious to the damage he was actually inflicting, though he could feel his fangs twitching so he knew there must be blood.
what devon was aware of was the words that were uttered from the boy beneath him. thank you. devon didn't want to be thanked, he didn't want parker to feel better. he wanted him to hurt and pay for what he had put fletcher through. of course, no one could feel better having their life practically pummeled out of them by a vampire with super strength, but devon's mind wasn't really thinking about that right now. "you... make... m-me... f-f-fucking... sick!" devon screamed at the boy beneath him between punches. had he been in the right frame of mind, he would have been quite amazed that parker was still conscious... hell that he was still alive. devon could punch through walls, he could only imagine what he could do to a human.
though before he had chance to keep going and make parker the first person he would ever kill, kaden stepped in. and though it didn't seem like it right now, devon knew he would thank kaden later for this. he had almost forgot that the other was there, but feeling his punching arm being grabbed brought the young vampire back to reality. the soft soothing words did nothing to calm him, instead make him feel sick to the stomach. wrenching his arm from kaden's he rolled off of parker and scrambled away, sitting with his knees against his chest, looking down at his hands which were covered in blood.
hunger rising within his stomach, devon willed it away, not daring to look over at parker to see the damage he had inflicted. well, it was a hell of a way to start a party. kaden was going to hate him... fletcher would hate him too. all because he couldn't control his fucking temper. "i-i-i'm s-s-sorry..." came the small feeble words from the vampire, curling into a ball and closing his eyes. he was turning into a monster.
